Keeping the tradition of honoring the Holy Rosary, Jesuit Music Ministry (JMM) celebrates the enduring stories of Christ’s life, as seen through the eyes of Our Lady, with its upcoming online concert.
In what promises to be a musical tribute to the Blessed Mother on this Marian month, “Inay: Mga Awit at Panalangin Kay Maria” airs live via the Jesuit Communications (JesCom) and Radyo Katipunan 87.9 FM Facebook pages, on October 24, Saturday, at 7:30pm.
For JMM Director Lester Mendiola, the time-tested devotion to Mother Mary and the Rosary is what enables many to remain hopeful amidst the many challenges brought upon by the COVID 19 pandemic.
“Prayer in general is a source of nourishment for many of us especially during this time of the pandemic. Our devotion to the Blessed Virgin though the Rosary is one of the most distinguishable features of our Catholic spirituality.”
“Praying the rosary inspires us to meditate on the mysteries of the lives of Jesus and Mary. It engages our thought, imagination, emotion and desire,” he continues.
Following Fr. Jose Ramon Villarin SJ’s leading of the Holy Rosary, the evening features beloved JMM chorales Bukas Palad Music Ministry, Hangad, Himig Heswita and Koro Ilustrado. Joining them are fellow ensembles Pansol Choir, SJ Tañong Chorale, Tinig Barangka, BP Online Community Choir, Christ the King Parish Music Ministry, Mater Dei, Kammerchor Manila, Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish and Shrine of Incarnation Music Ministry.

Migs Ramirez, Natt Dublin, Fr.Peter Pojol SJ, Sarah Facuri and Sr.Susay Valdez RC.
Making a special appearance is “Inay’s” esteemed guest Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, while a select group of speakers will share their inspiring faith stories.
“Aside from songs, we will be hearing testimonies and reflections from Father Kali Llamado of the Manila Cathedral, Fr Eli Lumbo SJ of the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service and Marian devotee, Ms. Fatima Soriano. We will learn from their stories on how their faith and ministry has deepened through the devotion to our Lady’s rosary,” adds Mendiola.
As we continue to pray to Our Lady for her intercession through these trying times, Saturday evening presents a timely opportunity to sing praises to our Heavenly Mother, together as her faithful children.
“Dear friends, we are grateful for your continued support to our ministry. We invite you once again to be with us, online to pray and sing to our Inay. Please share this invitation with your family and friends!” invites Mendiola.
