SJ Tañong Chorale to launch its first album

Barangka’s finest San Jose Tañong Chorale proudly launches its first-ever album “Mass for Unity” this Saturday, September 7 at the Queen of Angels Chapel, Riverbanks Center, Marikina City

Spearheaded by the choir’s musical director, Mr. Jerry Olaguer, the compilation of all-English Catholic Mass hymns for Ordinary Time, aims to promote solidarity and togetherness guided by faith, amidst challenging times.

“With all that’s happening in the world, I wrote these songs to help people be reminded of God; that we all belong to Him, and that we be united with Him in following His words of love and compassion, through my music, His music,” describes the multi-talented composer, lyricist and singer via the SJ Tañong Chorale’s Facebook page.

“To evangelize the faithful, and glorify Him, not just in heaven but also here, on earth,” he continues.

Also credited for their significant contributions to the success of “Mass for Unity” are flutist Rolando Camahalan Jr. and Jesuit Communications Foundation (JesCom) Sound Engineer, Toto Sorioso, both of whom will share the stage at the 7 pm mini-concert. Completing Saturday’s festivities are a ‘Song-teaching’ session at 5 pm, followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 6 pm.

CD copies of “Mass for Unity” by the San Jose Tañong Chorale will be available at the venue. Admission to the launch is free and open to the public.
