JMM Artist, Ateneo Chamber Singers Triumphs at the 7th Canta al mar-Festival Coral Internacional

Jesuit Music Ministry (JMM) original artist, Ateneo Chamber Singers, scored a resounding triumph at the prestigious 7th Canta al mar-Festival Coral Internacional held last October 24-28, in Calella/Barcelona, Spain.

In a competition that awarded a total of 29 gold, 24 silver, and 3 bronze diplomas, the Ateneo Chamber Singers stood tall among the winners, after being declared the champion of the S – Sacred Choir Music a cappella and the C2-Chamber Choirs of Mixed Voices, bagging the Gold VIII Diploma in both categories.

Part of the INTERKULTUR event series that unites non-profit and commercial organizations promoting culture internationally, under the Musica Mundi seal, the Canta al mar-Festival Coral Internacional is the designated yearly meeting place for participating choirs and ensembles from all over the globe.

Following their victorious stint in Calella/Barcelona, the ACS will travel to the Basque province in northern Spain, representing the Philippines at the 50th Tolosa International Choral Contest from October 31 to November 4, 2018.

The Ateneo Chamber Singers have recorded four albums with the Jesuit Music Ministry. In 2010, they began with Ang Ating Pasko, followed by Love I’ve Found in You (2011), then Hanggang Langit and Proclaim! Songs for the New English Translation of the Roman Missal (in collaboration with Musica Chiesa) both in 2013.
