“Sorry…all circuits are busy right now.” That is how we usually answer the challenge of religious life. Those who have received a calling now send out their message to us: Why be a sister or a brother or a priest? In this half-hour documentary, Fr. Jett Villarin, SJ, Sr. Marjo Matias, ra, Bro. Armin Luistro, FSC, and Fr. Elmer Alforque, DCI, talk about how they discerned and discovered their vocations. They also share their fears, their joys, and their lives as servants of God, sinners like all of us who are called to saintlier lives — like all of us as well. Spiritual Director Fr. Mon Bautista, SJ, gives us various points on the discernment of vocation. Listening to him and those who have heeded this special call may help us understand the ‘what’, the ‘why’, the ‘how’, but most especially, the ‘Who’ of religious life — and may lead us to discover our own personal calling, too.
