Christify Album Launch

At every moment, somewhere in the world, a Mass is being celebrated. At every moment, somewhere in the world, a Catholic community, offers bread and wine to God to Christify. As the community receives the bread and wine, so too, are they sanctified, missioned to draw the world for God to Christify.

In anticipation of its 25th anniversary, the Bukas Palad Music Ministry offers its 15th album, CHRISTIFY, a collection of 10 new songs for liturgy and worship. Continuing Bukas Palad’s mission of contributing to the repertoire of Filipino liturgical music, Christify contains new hymns for use in the different parts of the Mass.

The title track, Christify, articulates the actions involved in the offertory, when “all the toil and dreams of humankind, all we are we bring as bread and wine.” Praise The Lord Who Heals, one of two new psalms, affirms how “the Lord consoles the grieving and heals their bitter pain.” The Lord upholds his promise to stay with us forever in Kailan Pa Man. Say The Word implores the Lord to speak His words of healing as we receive His body and blood in Holy Communion. Magpasalamat Sa Kanya gives thanks to the Lord for His salvation, as we go in peace to love and serve the Lord.

Christify will be accompanied by a songbook containing choral arrangements and liturgical notes for all the songs in the album.

Christify will be launched with a special concert on Sunday, 29 August, 2010, 4:00pm, at the Church of the Gesu, Ateneo de Manila University. Admission is free. Join Bukas Palad as it counts down to its 25th anniversary, giving thanks to the Lord for all His graciousness, asking Him to “take and bless the work of our hands,” so that “we who by this bread You sanctify, draw the word for You to Christify.”
